“Pro Piano Romania” Cultural Foundation
Established in 1996, by Stela Avesalon, The “Pro Piano Romania” Cultural Foundation is a non profit, non governmental organization, with Public Utility Statute since 2004.
Purpose:
The Foundation’s goal is to discover, promote, educate and assist talented and highly gifted children and youth – the elite of the musical interpreters and piano performers – to reach their full potential.
Projects:
Before the most known project initiated and organized by “Pro Piano Romania” Foundation, the International Competition “Pro Piano Romania”, there were multiple participations to national and international contests resulting in many prizes won by the members of the Foundation. Also, the Foundation organized numerous concerts and recitals in various locations.
Since 1997, the annual “Pro-Piano Romania ” International Competition is open to young pianists, with ages between 6 and 30 years who are able to achieve remarkable performances, and are eager to estimate their technical and artistic abilities in an international context. From the very beginning, this competition has been a great success. Now, we already reached the 15th edition, in 2011, and counting! Thank you very much for your support!
In order to serve the interests of as many artists as possible, the Foundation”Pro Piano Romania” organized, along with the Competition, other meaningful projects : the Festival “ Friends of Music “, the Festival “Pro Piano Romania” and EMC – Excellency and Merit Centre .
Friends of Music / Pro Piano Romania
“ Friends of Music / Pro Piano Romania” is promoting young pianists between 5 and 18 years old who are studying music ( governmental or private); they are encouraged to compete and compare their musical achievements. They are not expected to present or cover a repertoire with a high artistic and technical level of difficulty, in accordance to their age. The Foundation tries to encourage and reward the love and interest for music. Since 2008, we have an affiliate “Music Friends” in Cluj-Napoca and from 2012 an affiliate in Iasi.
Festival “Pro Piano Romania
The “Pro Piano Romania” Festival is open to the laureates of the Competition, as well as to other Romanian and foreign guests.
EMC
EMC ~ Excellency and Merit Center reunites young musicians, vocal interpreters and instrumentalists (piano, violin, winds) with ages between 5 – 30 years, selected and awarded in national and international contests. They are scheduled to participate in recitals and shows of a high artistic level, either in our country or other international locations.
