RULES \u201cPRO PIANO-ROMANIA\u201d International Piano Competition<\/strong><\/h4>\n

21st<\/sup>\u00a0Edition, June 13 \u2013 18 \u00a02017<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

The 2017 \u201cPRO PIANO-ROMANIA\u201d International Piano Competition<\/strong> will take place between 13 and 18 of June 2017, and is open to young pianists of any nationality, born after January 1st<\/sup>\u00a01987.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The competitors are divided into 4 age groups (sections); each section is divided into categories, according to their year of birth:\u00a0Section A (Junior 1 and Junior 2), Section B, Section C and Section D\u00a0(4 hands)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    SECTION A: Junior 1 and Junior 2 <\/strong>\u00a0(one stage): <\/strong><\/h4>\n

    JUNIOR 1<\/strong> \u2013\u00a0includes children born in 2011 (A<\/strong>0<\/strong>\u00a0category), 2010(A1st <\/span><\/sup><\/strong>category)\u00a0and 2009 (A<\/strong> 2<\/strong>nd<\/sup>\u00a0category)<\/p>\n

    Repertoire for Junior 1 (maximum 5\u2019)<\/p>\n

    – one study(etude) and\u00a0\u00a0– 2 pieces different styles<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    JUNIOR 2<\/strong> \u2013 includes children born in 2008 (A<\/strong> 3<\/strong>rd<\/sup>\u00a0category) and 2007 (A 4<\/strong>th<\/sup> category)<\/p>\n

    Repertoire for Junior 2\u00a0(maximum\u00a08\u2019):<\/p>\n

    -one\u00a0study,\u00a0– one\u00a0pre-classical\u00a0(baroque) piece\u00a0and- one piece (or classic, or romantic, or modern)<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    SECTION B: 8 age groups\u00a0<\/strong>(2 stages)<\/h4>\n

    Cat. 1- born in 2006 \u2013 maximum: 10 \u2018 (for stage II)<\/p>\n

    Cat. 2 \u2013\u00a0Born in 2005<\/p>\n

    Cat. 3 \u2013\u00a0Born in 2004<\/p>\n

    Cat. 4 \u2013 Born in\u00a02003<\/p>\n

    Cat. 5 \u2013 Born in\u00a02002 \u2013 maximum: 15 \u2018 (for stage II)<\/p>\n

    Cat 6 \u2013 Born in\u00a02001<\/p>\n

    Cat. 7 \u2013 Born in\u00a02000 \u2013 maximum: 20 \u2018 (for stage II)<\/p>\n

    Cat. 8 \u2013 Born in\u00a01999\u00a0and 1998<\/p>\n

    Repertoire for Section B:<\/p>\n

    1st<\/sup>\u00a0Stage<\/strong>\u00a0(eliminatory):<\/p>\n

    1. a) A study(etude);<\/li>\n
    2. b) a piece of\u00a0pre-classical\u00a0(baroque)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      2nd<\/sup>\u00a0Stage:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. a) A classic piece: sonata (one part only), \u00a0Rondo (independently piece), or \u00a0Theme with variations<\/li>\n
      2. b) A romantic piece or modern piece (universal or Romanian)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

         <\/p>\n

        SECTION \u00a0C:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0young pianists born after 1987 (3 stages)<\/strong><\/h4>\n

        Repertoire:<\/p>\n

        1st<\/sup>\u00a0Stage <\/strong>(eliminatory):<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. a) Two virtuosity studies (Chopin, Liszt, Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Skriabin, Prokofiev)<\/li>\n
        2. b) J. S. Bach \u2013 Prelude and Fugue or 3 movements (parts) of the Suite or Partites<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          2nd<\/sup>\u00a0Stage\u00a0<\/strong>(semi-finale, eliminatory) \u2013 maximum\u00a030 \u2018<\/p>\n

            \n
          1. a) a classical sonata (Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven)<\/li>\n
          2. b) a modern piece (Universal or Romanian)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            3rd<\/sup>\u00a0Stage\u00a0<\/strong>(final) \u2013 maximum 30 \u2018<\/p>\n

            Recital with pieces different from those performed during the first two stages eliminatory stages, with a compulsory romantic piece included.<\/p>\n

            SECTION \u00a0D: 4 hands ensemble <\/strong>(one stage)<\/h4>\n

            Cat. 1 \u2013 Born between 2009 to 2004<\/p>\n

            Cat. 2 \u2013 Born between 2003 to 1998<\/p>\n

            Cat. 3 \u2013 Born between 1997 to 1987<\/p>\n

            Repertoire:<\/p>\n

            Any pieces of your own\u00a0choice, with the following maximum length:<\/p>\n

            Cat. 1 \u00a0\u2013 5\u2019\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \/ \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cat 2 \u2013 10\u2019\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \/ \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cat 3 \u2013 15\u2019<\/p>\n

            NOTE:\u00a0<\/strong> You can participate in two different categories: the age of competitor and a superior category, with different repertoires. Repertoire statement in your application form cannot be changed afterwards.<\/p>\n

            The order of interpretation of the pieces is to free choice of candidates. In case of exceeding the maximum set for stage 2 (or 3) the Jury will stop the evolution of the candidates. The\u00a0competitors\u00a0will perform in an alphabetical order within their age group. The competition is public.\u00a05<\/p>\n

            1. a) with 2 documents: the online Application Form (<\/strong>from Sit-Piano Competition 2017\/<\/strong>Piano Competition 2017\u2013Registration (Application Form)<\/a> and the receipt<\/strong> certifying the\u00a0payment<\/strong>of the participation fee(payable only trough Western Union<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
