About ProPiano

The “PRO PIANO-ROMANIA” Cultural Foundation with Public Utility Statute, which was set up in 1996, is   a non-profit and a non-governmental organization, has as the main goal the education, the promotion and the assistance of talented and highly gifted youngsters, which are the elite of their field, namely the musical interpreters, and more specifically, the piano performers.

The first projects organized by the Foundation were intended for its members and consisted of multiple participations to national and international contests; the members not only won important prizes but also were the organizers of numerous concerts and recitals.

Later on, the members’ wish to enlarge the number of those who were to be the beneficiaries of this action became more and more stronger, up to the point where they organized in 1997 a second important project with the PHARE support – the annual “PRO PIANO-ROMANIA” International Contest, open to young pianists aged between 6 and 30.

From the very beginning, the contest has been a great success (as shown in the leaflet about the contest).
Now, the Contest is at its 15th edition(2011).

In order to serve the interests of as many artists as possible, the Foundation organized, along with the Contest, other  projects “PRO PIANO-ROMANIA”: the Festival“ Friends of Music “, the Laureats Festival, CEM and from 2008, 2009 –  news projects (see NEWS). More about Pro Piano Projects
